Yann Vitasse

Co-President Commission for Phenology and Seasonality

WSL Swiss Federal Institute for Forest, Snow and Landscape Research, Birmensdorf, Switzerland

Dr Yann Vitasse developed his expertise principally on plant phenology in the context of global warming and evolutionary biology. His main contributions in this field have been the examination of phenological patterns of trees along elevation gradients, the temporal variation of tree phenology over the last decades, the calibration of models to predict future phenological changes and the quantification of chilling and forcing requirements necessary to break dormancy. His current research attempts to assess potential phenological mismatches within and among trophic levels. YV is co-president of the commission for phenology and seasonality at the Swiss Academy of Sciences (SCNAT).
