INRAE Université de Strasbourg - France

Eric Duchêne is a research engineer working at INRAE in Colmar, France since 1996. He has obtained his PhD in agronomical sciences from the University of Strasbourg.
His present research focuses on the genetic determinism of agronomical traits such as yield components, phenology, berry sugar content and acidity. He very early pointed out the possible effects of climate change on viticulture and his research aims at combining ecophysiological modeling and genetic parameters to anticipate phenological traits of interest in the climatic conditions of the future. The final goal is to propose guidelines for ideotypes to grapevine breeders.
